Have You Ever Mown the Lawn Too Early?

Has anyone ever mown their lawn too early and been caught out by ground frost, or worst still snow? I’m not sure if I should cut the grass this weekend or hold off for another week or so. What is everyone’s thoughts?

I am not an experienced gardener in any way shape or means but I mowed our lawn on Thursday. I did not cut it on the lowest setting but rather 2nd highest. So far so good - it looks perfect with no dead patches etc. Will keep you posted if things change BlueEyesX

We are on our fourth cut! Highest setting for the first three and now on second highest. The garden looks lovely. There has been a lot of growth and we’ve made the mistake in the past of leaving it too long before cutting and then the grass underneath was yellow!
