Do You Ever Pay for Extras on a Flight?

Other

I’m referring to leg room, pre-allocated seats, priority boarding, etc. I think they’re a waste - you’re still stuck in cattle class, so just knock yourself out and wait for the flight to be over. If you’re going to pay for anything, then just do an upgrade...although I guess that all depends on the prices

I agree they are a waste, especially priority boarding, what's the point? You still get a seat and arrive at the same destination even if you are last on the plane. I have never upgraded or been upgraded:-( but have considered it on long haul flights, sadly my sensible head usually kicks in and I put the extra towards my holiday spending.

Same here - after all the fun really only starts when you land, and then you’ve the freedom to spend on anything you want 😀

Once you know what you're doing, paying to select a good seat (and perhaps even more importantly to avoid a bad one) can make a world of difference to your comfort, especially on long haul flights.

How to find out what the best (and worst!) seats are on your flight? Use www.seatguru.com

It's also worth checking before you book what the seat pitch is - on some airlines the seat pitch can be 31" in Economy on others it's 34". It makes a massive difference.

Thanks for the share. Always handy to know and definitely something to consider on a long flight

Yes we always pay extra to choose our seats beforehand as we as a family like to sit together, normally it's a package which offers choice of seat, hold bags and depending on the airline Meals. We probably only fly as a family once every year and are happy to pay the extra.

If you're flying on second class there isn't much point unless you want to sit with your kids and wife, like Mango4 said.

Normally, those who bother paying more would rather go on first class flights than low cost ones.

I tend to load up my tablet with shows to watch for 2hrs so the flight isn't as exhausting. I'd not say to some food and a drink but hell no, their food prices are ridiculous. lol
