Expired Posts Can You Refresh Them?

Latest Deals

Seems we still have an issue with people wrongly expiring posts which is either laziness or spite but my question is can these deals be refreshed? Tom? I feel its a real shame when I have tried to find deals others would like and benefit from for them to then not show when searching for new deals. Hope that makes sense thanks for the help everyone

If you go onto the post that has been expired you can undo it but clicking expired box so it's empty again hoping I explained this well for you to understand

Ann1984 thanks yup i have managed to do that now but my post was expired 3 days ago - a few hours after posting and what I was meaning is that it wont appear in the new section as 3 days have past so people may miss out. Just seems a shame.

Are people expiring deals that are still available? I thought they were checked manually. It's not happened to me much but when it has, I've had the notification saying that someone has reported it as expired but its not actually been greyed out or marked as expired if that makes sense.

yeah they have been greyed out and have just had the notification but posted 3 days ago. In fairness LD is usually really good at catching them so that they dont show as expired- unless they are but just wondered if there is a way to refresh them so that people see them.......if that makes sense.

At least it shows some member interaction (if it is happening ?) Personally I have found the lack of member interaction on this site very frustrating . Many of us post what we consider a good deal hoping for it to be commented on - either shot down , criticised or complimented .

Maybe some folks are too "precious" but surely this site should be about posting a deal then letting other members give their opinion on the deal ?

So far it seems to me the only comments come when the founders or staff post a deal which attract grovelling comments ?

I would love my deals to be criticised , validated or improved on - Isn't that the whole point of this site ?

I would love to look on this site the day after posting a deal to find 20 odd comments saying what is wrong or right with my deal or suggesting a better option - that will be the day this site will truly take off as a reference for those of us who love a great deal .

Golfforall I spend a good 90minutes min daily on the site and always post what I think are good deals- regardless of saving. The other day a comment complained because the saving was only £1.50 Off chicken so?? If you are buying chicken wouldnt you appreciate £1.50 off- lots of people seemed to agree 😀I only post semi negative comments when people are playing the system like recycling their deals using fake exp dates or really frustratingly @argos@superdrug post deals they know are not available to purchase. The fact that I know these things I hope reassures you of the level some of us do interact 😊

OneeyedRaven I'm sure we'll get there slowly - We can only post deals and hope that fellow members add their expertise . Myself, I am looking for a mid range 17" Laptop so have searched long and hard and posted a few - but not one comment ! I wouldn't mind at all critical comments (in fact would appreciate them immensely ) , I would appreciate better options but that will only happen when/ if members comment and share their opinions /expertise .

I'm sure we will get there eventually - even if members start commenting just to stop my endless harping on about lack of comments ?

I agree with you, I'm fed up of people reporting my posts saying they expired when they are not. I think you can reinstate them yourself but it's knowing when they have been expired out of your control.

Thank you for your message, I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with Latest Deals. When someone reports a deal that expired, usually it is then manually reviewed and checked. However we do sometimes make mistakes. I believe my colleague has been in touch with you via email about some of this to try and fix a post.

Unfortunately no, an expired deal, if unexpired, can’t be refreshed. It’d have to be re-posted which I understand is a pain.

Kelsey, our tech whizz, will also review this feedback as we look to improve our moderation systems.

Thank you again and I hope you continue to enjoy Latest Deals.

thanks Tom. Its really frustrating to have to repost them maybe you need to consider a 3 strikes and out way of monitoring those who continue to report falsely? I understand people make errors myself included so I am only referring to the people who do it as a way of preventing posts or to get points. im sure the team will sort it then these types will get bored and leave the rest of the community in peace! 👍
