Family That Live on a Roundabout
In the News
This family has lived in their home for more than 40 years and stayed even after busy roundabout was built around it in 1980
It has been in their family since 1960 and had more disruption then with a passing railway and road, the railway no longer exists
Now at least they have nice views and no neighbours to disturb them, and they manage to cope with the distant traffic which is only busy at peak times
I suppose it beats living close to an airport in a roundabout way
No privacy. I guess they could put up walls/borders, but that wouldn't look ideal, either.
PhilipMarc They sound happy where they are P , just far enough away from the traffic with open views
telmel It's more about seeing the traffic, that can get pretty monotonous and tiresome.
A wall around, grow vegetables/fruits, and they'll boost the value of their place just by improving it. Plus, strangers can't see what they're doing.
Having even that piece of land is pretty nice.
I would not like the fumes and reversing out might be interesting, easy to give directions, at the roundabout stop.
Howmuch Good point. If they could afford to build a mini mountain or a tunnel entrance that'd fix the issue for them coming in and out and the postman delivering their packages.
Wouldn't bother me. I live on a main dual carriageway next to roundabout. Have done for many years. I'm often asked if the traffic bothers me. No, it doesn't. You become used to it/ tuned out from it eventually.
oh wow never seen this before. How interesting, i wonder if it makes the house less valuable because of its position, tho sounds like it will stay in the family anyways.
