Favourite Christmas Film
Ask a Question
We are a big fan of Love Actually and watch it every Christmas, what's your favourite?
Christmas films are not my thing but I will watch Elf, it makes me feel old when I look at how old it is.
Showing my age, my favourite film is It's a Wonderful Life (1946) , it's black and white but what I like is the different one personalised n can make to a community. It's video cheesy but I love it
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
With honourable mentions for Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, Last Christmas and A Christmas Carol (1951 version)
I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey **** he is! Hallelujah! Holy ****! Where's the Tylenol?
blacklabrador Some fantastic bits in the whole film. Going to have to watch it again just thinking about it lol
SilverSurfer It's a must watch every year for us, usually on the last Saturday night before Christmas.
Trading Places (1983) with Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Akyroyd.
That is my kind of movie.
Another vote for National lampoon. I also like The Santa Claus Movie, Polar Express & Mrs Miracle βΊ
I'd say the Alastair Sim version of Christmas Carol and Groundhog Day. Is Groundhog Day a Christmas movie? Not sure but they show it a lot around Christmas but maybe not quite as much as some other titles. The only musical I actually like which they show at Christmas is Oliver so I guess that takes third place. That is my favourite musical of all time but then I'm not sure that is a recommendation as I don't like musicals but its rich in atmosphere and very well done.
Scrooged. Elf. Die Hard (donβt come at me for this one. Just an excuse to watch it every year!).
not a Christmas film but I like watching Christmas specials such as gavin and stacey, royal family, only fools and horses and Mrs browns boys and others!
Bad Santa: Unrated Edition & Home Alone
Dumb and Dumber isn't a Christmas movie, but I love watching it around this time.
P.S. Don't watch the Unrated Cut of it, it's pretty gross.
Love em all but Wonderful Life or the original Miracle on 34th. Love Alistair Sims in Scrooge as well
The Buddy movies are my favourite I love them all. Snuggling up with the kids nothing better.
Itβll always be home alone and home alone 2 for me. I heard there is yet another remake and I dare not watch it
Home Alone really but I recently put The Snowman on for my kids and they love it. It's been on almost every day for the last week and it is fantastic. The music and imagery are beautiful. Underrated Christmas film in my opinion.
Watched Klaus in December and I think that will be one of my favourites now, really enjoyed it
I love the holiday and home alone. Also not just for Christmas time, I could watch them all year
