Favourite Indian, Chinese or Kebab?
Ask a Question
Now, I'm a sucker for a good takeaway, but haven't had one since lockdown.
So what is your favourite?
As for a curry, I'd have a chicken dhansak and a keema naan.
For a Chinese, it's a king prawn chow mein and special fried rice.
And I'd have to go for a large lamb donner and all the salad (but no tomatoes). Chilli sauce on the meat and mint sauce on the salad
Indian........... just love a hot Madras or a Jalfrezi !!! Every Sunday we have one instead of Sunday lunch. How British ha ha my granny would have gone crazy !!!!
We havent had a take away since lockdown either. We'd usually have at least 1 a week before
My first choice would always be a chinese. Either House Special Chow main, Beef & mushrooms in oyster sauce & fried rice, or house special in Cantonese sauce are usually our go toos. OH loves black bean sauce but I cannot stand it.
If we get a Indians its usually just a Korma with Veg pilaw rice & poppadom.
Not a fan of kebabs, always feel sick & like a dirty gluten after eating one. So on the rare occasions my OH & sons are ordering one I just make something else.
Glitterandgold I forgot about beef and mushrooms in oyster sauce. I used to make it quite often with loads of garlic.
I have been having the odd takeway here and there. I really like to get some chicken wings from Pepe's, they are amazingly good. Also Domino's but with lockdown they are not selling my favourite pizza: tandoori hot.
A lamb donner kebab is so gooood as well.
Lemon chicken or orange chicken with frayed rice with prawn crackers. Love there spar ribs with bbq sauce. Cant eat any thing spicey . Makes me poorly.
Have had a few mixed grill kebabs from our local in the past few weeks. Always have to have loads of chilli and garlic sauce
Not had a takeaway since lockdown but love a chicken korma, mushroom fried rice with garlic and coriander naan bread
None lol , curry had before and then just started doing myself , also Indian , kebab used to have after night clubs when coming back home hahahaha that had been a while ago , I love cooking And we don’t order take away at all , but good memories when I was young and wild
Chinese my fave chow mein, chicken balls curry egg fried rice but not had one for months cause ours our shut ATM
I just love Indian/Asian food !! Thats only because I am from an Asian household. Favourite would be keema naan tastes delicious!
Love Singapore Rice. Also love Bombay potatoes and and nice Spinach side dish.Oh and love a Donner as well.Er not a lot I don't like lol.
MelissaLee1963 You've got to watch with doners. If it doesn't say 'lamb' doner on the menu, it could be made out of mainly MSM chicken.
I found this out when I asked a local kebab shop why the listing had changed and was told. Only one takeaway around here states 'lamb' doner now.
TheChimp I don't mind chicken as long as I'm not paying lamb prices but thanks for the heads up Sir.
RegularComper90 I agree, lamb from a takeaway can be very ropey at the best of times
A hot curry and I tend to vary which one I have each time, any time I have a Chinese is when I crave one but then always disappointed with it. I think the last time I had a kebab was like 20 odd years ago
Chinese is my go to but for years iv ordered the same which is a starter of chicken wings and cheese and chorizo spring rolls ....there the bomb!! Then special chow mein with cashew nuts ( even though I pick out the prawns) I do love domino's thin crust chicken supreme with extra cheese. I'm not keen on spicy food so it's always a korma or jalfrezzi if I'm in company and everyone decides on Indian. I think I need to try a new dish at Chinese 25yrs iv been getting the same main
My favourite is Indian, Chicken Sag (chicken and spinach curry), my husband prefers Chinese we normally get a set meal for two. But its not something we get very often as its so expensive. You can practically get a weeks worth of groceries for the price of a takeaway
we never just order one meal, we get at least 4 mains from indian or chinese even if its just the 2 of us and eat the rest the next day.
lamb korai, chicken tikka massala, chicken biryani, lamb balti, samosas, bahjis, chicken chat, nans, rice and chips thats pretty standard indian order.
mixed satay, mixed szechuan, chicken balls, crisp duck noodles, prawn crackers with rice and salt & pepper chips normally a chinese order.
mixed kebab, hotshot parmo and a pizza of some sort from kebab shop..
some dishes change if we goto the restaurants..
Indian - I love a Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and Naan bread, Chinese - Egg fried rice, duck & pancakes with hoisin sauce, seaweed, Kebab - Chicken Donner with salad & garlic sauce
