Favourite School Topic / Favourite Thing about School

Ask a Question

I know this is a random topic but what was everyone's favourite topic in school?.

Mine was History all the way throughout school and was one of the very few I was good at so took it as GCSE. I really enjoyed my last day there.

I loved History too, followed very closely by English and Art. I enjoyed quite a few of the usual subjects but not with the same passion.

As you know, I am well into my History also followed by English but I am afraid we part company at Art, I am useless about doing it or knowing much about it!

I am currently reading The Sunne in Splendour for the 4th time, by Sharon K. Penman, a very long tome about the War of the Roses.

Lynibis I've gone a little off-track but I'm reading 'Hour of the Witch' a gift from a friend. Quick synopsis - Puritans/colonists 1660s Boston, a woman has to divorce her husband to survive. Only one chapter in but enjoying it.

I was constantly bullied for being a swot. They kept pinching my lunch so my dad who worked in the butcher's shop made my sandwiches with 'lights' aka innards and guts. Never happened again. Another bully stole my Carandache pencils and threw them out the window. I was Tuck Monitor and more than once accosted on the stairs and all the tuck stolen. I was put on detention! I feigned indifference but cried alone. One girl..one of the bullies asked me why I didn't react..she later became my friend and closest ally no kidding.

I really enjoyed Art at my boarding school, but that was more down to fancying the art teacher more than being any good at art. I was OK at maths and managed to catch up on five years of secondary education in two years at the school having been unteachable for the first three years in a grammar school. It did teach me to control my anger at everything and everyone though so was a real success for me and the school.

English and Greek Lit.. Love a good story well written and well sold on by an enthusiastic animated teacher.

I loved science was my favourite subject. Even now I enjoy learning something new relating to it. My biggest regret is not taking a levels for it.

My favourite subjects at school were History and English, although English depended a lot on the teacher. I often wonder if I would’ve liked other classes better if the teachers had been better though.

History, My teacher would talk for the entire lesson and had total control over the class, in contrast to my other subjects. It gave me a welcome break from the noise and chaos.
