How Do You All Feel about Travelling Now?
Ask a Question
- Scared and refuse to travel anytime soon regardless of green/amber/red list
- Okay but will avoid....
- Not okay but may need to (personal or business reasons). Need to accept to live with the new normal.
- Fine things are feeling safer. Now that more people are vaccinated at certain places.
I think the second statement would be closest to my view. I have no interest in travel at the moment, and don't think I will travel anywhere anytime soon.
I feel like many people including myself just don't know the reaction/judgement of when is it or will be safe or considered okay by the public... but curious of where people stood.
I have been travelling regularly for work for the past eighteen months InaShah and it has been fine. The airports feel safe, clean and Covid compliant. Obviously, there have been less people travelling, so it will be interesting to see how things are now domestic travel is allowed again
Feeling safe, 4 weeks to go to see my family, and may have another escape just with my friend.
My husband is desperate for us to get away but I am still very wary. I suggested we buy our own caravan so I know my accomodation will be clean.
We're off for 2 nights away in Aberdeen soon and were set to postpone but have decided to go as we're both ultra cautious, have had our jabs and we don't 'do' crowds anyway. Having said that I think that with the loosening of restrictions and the recent football get togethers (I'm NOT anti football!...just practical) .... there's got to be another massive surge. We decided to go and enjoy before it gets worse regarding infections and restrictions.
As long as your sensible I would consider it safe to travel within the UK now, and even certain foreign countries . If it wasn't for all the changing rules , regulations and tests and restrictions you have to comply with , we would probably consider a foreign holiday in a few months time,
Haven't booked anything or been any where since the first lockdown but do feel like I'm hitting a wall now. Just curious if there is judgement for considering. But no way would travel until 2nd vaccination.
At the same time grandma in India did die of Covid so I know that this world is all connected to our actions.
I don't think you should worry about peoples judgements. If your chosen travel destination is considered safe & you follow the safety rules & guidelines then I don't see a problem.
I probably won't be travelling out of the UK this year, but I would be fine doing it if the opportunity arose.
Currently 1 but hopefully next year things will have gone back to "normal" as I am hoping to go on a cruise to celebrate my 30th Wedding Anniversary
I want to, but there’s no point as the situation is constantly changing in other countries, and I expect the rules and restrictions to be tighter outside of the Uk
Wife wants to go away but for me I'm doubting any travel will happen for us this year and personally not planning anything for that least the first half of next, some of those decisions are down to knowing if we can then lots of people will and will be too busy and expensive
I did a road trip a few weeks back and visited several people. None of them had a problem with us staying over and just to prove a point, we did lateral flow tests upon our return. The tests were negative. We broke no rules or laws but we got out and saw people, some of which live alone. I'm seeing so much negativity about this online so please, try to get out and see people. It's nice to see some of you are in these comments. You're allowed to go on holiday in the UK at the very least so enjoy yourself! I know you can't help the way you feel in your head but for goodness sake, do not let the media or the government scare you. Whatever you believe is now going on, the approach from both government and mainstream media is disgusting and on many occasions; has completely disregarded people's mental health.
