First Low Noise Firework Display Held in Port Erin

I didn't know there was such a thing as low noise fireworks, I wished they had used them near me last night. I am not a pet owner but I could hear my neighbours dogs crying

I was looking after a neighbours dog today B, i dont mind them being let off on the 5th, its tradition but someone was igniting them today
The poor dog was trembling and hiding in the corner, luckily my dog isnt affected
It took hours before she calmed down
I know of one dog that died of a heart attack because of this
I think there should be a law to ban them on any other days besides the 5th and possibly new year
Or better still just allow official displays , the A&E department would be less crowded
In my area, people have been letting them off since the middle of October and will likely continue to let them off until the middle of November. Shops are partly to blame for this by having them on sale too early. Some even selll them all year round.
Overall, the regulations regarding fireworks is far too lax in this country.
We've had noisy fireworks in our area for the last few days. I think low noise fireworks should become the norm. People who like fireworks can enjoy watching them, people who don't like fireworks won't be as disturbed by them as they are with regular fireworks, and of course it would be better for all the pets that get upset by fireworks too.
Thats a great idea A, but it still doesnt help the 2,000 plus people injured by them every year in the UK
It's over 15,000 per year in the US
Maybe they could have virtual fireworks, the same effects as real but without the injuries
Who knows what may happen in the future with technology advances
i think its great to have low noise firework displays not just for pets but people that cant handle or dont like the noise, they should be encouraged to have more like this all around.

One of my neighbours has a daughter with special needs and she posted a video last night of how terrified she was of all the noise, it was heartbreaking 
That is so sad. My great nephew is autistic he has noise cancelling earphones but sometimes he refused to wear them. Plus can imagine if you are a soilder suffering from PTSD
beccatavender she was wearing proper ear defenders but still very frightened. Apparently on a normal night she wakes 10-15 times but during all these fireworks she’s now too scared to sleep.
Yes I agree about the PTSD. Some of the bangs are unbelievably loud and shake the whole house.
I'm one of those people who think low noise/no noise should be the only kind, I love the prettiness of fireworks but not the noise.
I was moving home on Friday so was anxious & stressed enough but the loud bangs were escalating it further.
The noise is not fair on people & animals alike.
Also I believe display only, to me it would cut the work load of emergency services.
Our cat stayed out all night yesterday. So he was obviously hiding away till 5am. We have grounded him tonight as my Wife get's very upset when he dosen't come home after dark. Imagine how the wild creatures must be suffering. Nowhere to hide for them. I have never understood why people want to burn money. But, That is my opinion.

Animals are a lot more vunerable, as they have little understanding of what the loud noises are. Fireworks have become far to easy to obtain.
The ones sold in U.K. are pretty pathetic compared to the ones abroad. It doesn't have the same impact of its "BANG!" noise or explosion in the air.
So sad, I saw that article but didn't post it as I trying to post only good news stories. I have also seen lots of news stories about injuries sustained injuries.
Not worried so much with the noise, but it can ignite a fire. And also, harm people who are carelessly near it.
