Have You Had the Flu Jab This Year?
Ask a Question
I had mine last Saturday and now I have a sore throat and a slight cough. I have tested myself for Covid and it is negative. So I am assuming its because of the flu jab. Anyone else had any side effects from it?
Yes had my Flu Jab a couple of weeks ago, no side effects or anything. You probably just have a cold etc., and not necessarily because of the Flu Jab. Hope you feel better soon.
Carlton1512 The same thing happened to me last year so I do thing think there is a connection.
Today I booked the Covid booster and will book my flu jab too. Not sure I want both of them at the same time.
My son is due his flu jab next Friday. Hopefully he doesn't have bad side effects as his Granny will be visiting a few days after.
There's nothing in the jab that should cause flu type symptoms, so it's probably a coincidence.
TheChimp It takes 14 days for a flu vaccine to become fully active. A small percentage of people who get the vaccine develop a low-grade fever of 101 degrees or less. It is possible that your immune system is aggressively responding to the vaccine.
eyeballkerry Ah.
I've been lucky as I've never had any side effects. FatherofChimp reckons he's had some though.
Had mine a couple of weeks ago , New Covid jab and flu jab at the same time . No reaction at all , not even a slightly sore arm . I suppose we are all affected slightly differently ? The main thing is we are now protected for at least the next six months .
I have a very low immune system due to strong medication I take so that could add to why I reacted.
The one and only time I had the flu jab I actually got really ill with the flu !!! I’m not having the jab again !
reannsgran This happened to my husband last year and he is refusing to have it this year.
eyeballkerry The composition of flu vaccines change every year dependant on the latest variants of flu going around in the world . Could be that a bad reaction in previous years won't necessarily mean a bad reaction to this years jab.
Not had mine yet but three people I know have all had reactions one being off work for 3 days other two just felt unwell.
No, the last time I had it must have been around my teen years.
Jab for this and that.. makes it feel like a software update for humans.
The only side effects I have ever had has been a sore arm. I am due to get a covid jab at the hospital I work when I get the chance to actually go into the main building again as I want to be fully protected. Was pleasantly surprised by my GP surgery as received a text this morning saying I was due a flu jab if I wanted one. I phoned them back this afternoon - and am booked in tomorrow morning. Most efficent!
