Another airline in administration. It does put you off flying anywhere doesn't it.

Paying for a flight/trip and losing your money is a real possibility there days, no matter which airline is involved.

This morning the headline has changed to 'Collapsed Flybe tells passengers not to travel to airports'.

All those disappointed travellers and as well as the staff probably losing their jobs. What a world!

It just makes a change that they seem to be blaming the coronavirus rather than Brexit! 🐞

Yes indeed. Tbh I usually book flights and hotels separately, so the air carriers I use are the international ones who are unlikely to collapse in the same way, as most likely their government will bail them out. Not the case for Flybe I’m afraid

hspexy Isn't amazing though how many companies expect the government (namely us) to bail them out if they get in trouble. Is shows how there is no contingency planning, and begs the question 'Should these people be in charge in the first place?' If we individually fail financially we are left floundering. 🐞

tumblespots I know what you mean - when times are good, the CEOs and share holders will reward themselves silly amounts of money, technically bleeding the companies dry, but when the black hole in the company gets too large they call for help...to do it all over again! Most of these companies collapse and just start again. It feels like a huge con which the government allows to happen

I saw this news come in last night. I have flown with this airline they have always provided an excellent service, especially for reaching the regions around the UK.

It's especially sad for the 2000+ staff that will be losing their jobs. That's who my thoughts are with this morning.

Really sad news for the staff, and those people who rely on them to get to places other airlines don't go to.

I've used Flybe a few times from Southend airport and always found them friendly, competent and welcoming.

This is really sad I have flown with flybe a couple of times. It's been a tough year for airlines and my thoughts go out to those who are affected!

It's a shame as I've found flybe to be one of the better airlines for shorter flights.

I pretty much only used to fly with them - decent prices compared to others. Last time though, their customer service was shocking though. So mixed feelings from me.

My colleagues got stuck with this trying to get home from Belfast. It's sad news for the staff.
