Fur Fluffs - Age Suitability

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Fur Fluffs would be a suitable gift for 7 & 9 year old girls.
I've bought them as Christmas presents for my nieces but my son who works in a toy store has told me they are too babyish and aimed at younger children.
Can anyone who's bought these for their kids comment on them, how old where their kids.
I'm basically needing to know if I need to look for alternative gifts.

If they are interested in them go with it. I work in a school if I'm honest the amount of times kids are given tech. It's lovely to see kids getting toys. It's like when people say their 7,8,9 upwards have outgrown toys. No they haven't It's cos parents chuck tech at them and they lose the ability how to play.
Jerseydrew they still play with other toys like Barbie's for example, especially the 7 year old, they like crafts and make up too.
It's my son saying they are 3 years old that's really planted a seed of doubt in my mind.
aeje1982 they probably aimed at 3 upwards doesn't mean they are babyish. Also parents for under 5s buy toys more then over 7s
Jerseydrew I think I'll give them then and maybe look for something more grown up to add to it.
I think your nieces will love them. I've looked on many sites and there for 5+ years. So don't worry.
