Gamer Other Half
In the News
Does anyone get annoyed with other half constantly playing xbox/ps4 in the evenings? Or do you join in too? I dont mind it but sometimes it would be nice to play some board games etc do something different...
We're both gamers and we love it. I can see how it can annoy you when you don't like it, specially because you may want to do things together. Maybe set up a weekly board game night, or weekly fun night?
LordUnbox the problem is he works shifts. And lately he's just tired and wants to zone out playing games...and I get it. I just carry on with my stuff I need to do. But what does annoy me is when we decide to go out/I make dinner and I'm there waiting for 20-30min because he just started another bloody game ! and quite often if he's not playing he's watching stupid videos of others streaming their game... I'm absolutely rubbish at computer games I got no sense of space probably I am only good at original Mario and that's it
jurgita0712 Sorry to hear that, is there somehow you can know his schedule in advance to setup this night for you?
Well Mario is awesome!
LordUnbox usually it's done for the week. But quite often than not he'll get called in on his day off or asked to stay longer even he was meant to do short day. Last few weeks he worked a lot of hours so he's shattered... also I'm 7 months pregnant so he better enjoy his games while he can ...
I love gaming but if there was multiple people in the living room who didn't like gaming I wouldn't force it down their throat, I'd setup somewhere else to play. I don't have one myself but I think many people have bought a Switch so they can play both on the big screen and quickly switch to the portable screen if someone wants to use the main tv.
BonzoBanana we got plenty rooms and gadgets so it's not a problem if anything we have too many of itits more that sometimes I want to do something together while he would rather play we do watch some Netflix etc
mine isnt, if anything its me... he doesnt mind though we mess about and he is my right hand man when it comes to puzzle solving lol
dholly39 I dont mind either. Just sometimes it irritates mefor example if I made dinner etc and its getting cold
Lynibis lol I dont mind usually because then I get my sewing done, read my books etc. But sometimes it does grate on me a bitbut then again at the moment I find many things irritating such as toothbrush left on the sink, or anything out of place
My OH & eldest son are big gamers. My youngest son plays too but not as into it as much. I only enjoy playing COD. My eldest son competes in gaming competitions etc alot. I don't mind, I do sometimes have to put my foot down with them about time spent playing, but not often.
My Oh doesnโt but my son drove me crazy shouting at the thing all night when he lived with me. Thatโs one thing I certainly donโt miss now that he has his own house ( his poor girlfriend has to listen to it now )
heatherduthie if my hubby is playing with mates usually it's ok. But if hes playing with strangers and they're crap at it I do hear some language too...
I always said I wouldnโt get in a relationship with someone who plays video games because Iโm not coming second best to a game.... having said that, my other half has a PlayStation we use for watching tv and he didnโt play any games on it for 2 and a half years of our relationship until lockdown started.. he downloaded one game and only played it when I was asleep or on facetime to someone
sarahgreen15 we often watch Netflix etc. He's not doing it 24/7 and I suppose everyone has their own way to chill
