Getting Cash from John Lewis Gift Card

I received a John Lewis gift card as a birthday present. I would much rather have the cash. Short of selling it, is there any way I can use it in store to get back cash? T&C says credit will remain in case only part of the amount is used and it seems refunds would also be in form of credit. No way out?

no I wouldn't think so as most gift cards are not changeable into cash. zeek will buy it for a discounted price if you want to sell

No, you either use it instore to buy something or sell it on zeek. You don't get cash back from gift cards
