Many shops have sold gingerbread men and women for years. But, we have now got to the stage where companies are walking on eggshells to try avoid offending everyone, even for seemingly trivial reasons, and/or using it as a cheap marketing ploy to appear progressive. Recently, there has been the fuss over Mansize Tissues or the Student Union in the University of Manchester getting upset with clapping and encouraging students to use jazz hands instead. The small number of people that really get offended with these things should not be indulged or things will get even more ridiculous. There are far more important things to worry about.

Indeed! It’s like the world has gone mad. Someone somewhere is always going to be offended by something, and some things can be addressed, but most things are trivial. Surely the change to just ‘ginger’ persons is going to upset someone as well? Madness

hspexy Some people may get offended by the word 'ginger' as it could potentially upset people with ginger hair. Maybe they should change the name to spicybread persons instead, just to be safe 😉

ACR lol Yes can’t please everyone. I might take offence that the ‘spicybread’ isn’t actually spicy! 😜 Before you know it, we will have to do away with descriptions altogether, and just list ingredients of all products

Lol yeh I’m sure they’ll be changing how they do things soon enough, even though I’m sure no one was offended by any of their ads previously. Utter madness
