Girl, 15, Charged after Singer Katherine Jenkins Mugged
In the News
A 15-year-old girl has been charged after Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins was mugged in London while intervening in a street robbery.
The 39-year-old opera star was on her way to a rehearsal in Chelsea on Wednesday when she saw an older woman being attacked, her agent said.

I heard about this the other day.
The next day I read that a girl had been charged. (above)
Two things came to mind
- That it is news when a 'star' is mugged - if it happened to any other 39 year old would the coverage have been so 'front page'?
- The police were clearly on the ball this time and actually found the mugger - again would they have been so alert if it was you or me?
It is appalling that anyone is mugged, indeed horrifying and sometimes fatal, but is the coverage warranted just because of star status? Or does the fact that Katherine was helping another lady being attacked justify the article?
It hit the headline because she famous if any other random person helping a attack in Street nothing heard about it
I don't think there is any surprise about news about celebrities. If a celebrity dies that is news worthy but if your aunt mildred dies in her sleep don't expect to see it on the main news bulletin as the lead story.
This happens to "normal" people and the cops usually wont help you much if you were robbed or worse.
U.K. and other govts around Europe disarmed their citizens, so guns are nearly impossible to legally own. They're now trying to push for "gun control" in U.S., too.
You're really stuck with:
A) Follow the law and be disarmed.
B) Arm yourself even though it's not legal.
I'm not gonna lie, I take option B. tumblespots
Rockman I'm with you there. I don't see why only the baddies should be 'allowed' to arm themselves.
