This must be for the rich because mine only get 250 Xmas 50 for birthday and maybe the odd outfit I would say no more then 600. When I see parents giving over 500 for a birthday to young child your just bringing spoilt kids up. How would they react if you hit rock bottom couldn’t afford.

Ann1984 we spend about 150 on birthdays for the kids Xmas last year as we only had the one child we spent just short of 450 and that's only coz all year round she doesn't get anything unless she's grow out of stuff

I have given my grown up son £ when he moved out for furniture.I have bought everything for an unfinished flat, bed, sofa, fitted out his kitchen microwave, Pots & Pans everything down to bedding.

Bought him clothes, I pay for his mobile phone.

He is an only child and I rather help him out now when I am around.

My son is a only child and he only gets money for birthdays and Christmas and he has a well paid job that ables him to run his own car and house and mobile phone

My son is only 2 but my husband and I are obviously grown up but we don't get given any money by our parents. We have been helped out by them recently as we are moving house but the money was a one off gift, not something that happens often.

We don't get given money for birthdays or Christmas by our parents. My husbands Granny gives money for Christmas and birthdays as she never knows what to buy us.

I don't imagine that there are many parents giving 3 grand a year to their grown up children.

We have given our children money to help buy properties and the usual life things. Helped one to clear the mortgage. Just as well help while we’re alive as we never help.

I helped my son and his girlfriend to get on the property market by providing a large deposit towards their first house (half the cost of the house). I give them money for Birthdays and Christmas as well as some gifts to open. I also look after my Granddaughter 2 days a week to save them on childcare costs, I'd quite happily pay them to look after my gorgeous Granddaughter lol. If you can't spoil them when your here to see them enjoy it then what's the point when your 6ft under and while I can do it I will. Appreciate that some people may not be in a position to do so. 😄
