Where Are You All Going to on Holiday This Year?
Other
I was just interested where you're all going to this year, Do you go abroad or stay in the UK?
Every year I go away, my usual places are Australia, Lanzarote, Portugal, Greek Islands, my favourite one Lefkas. I also go away in this country, Devon , Norfolk and Isle of Wight. Unfortunately due to fires and the devastation it has left in Australia we are not going at the moment, this is also sad as we have a very sick relative we would love to visit again. Another reason for not travelling abroad at the moment is the viruses that are around. So my husband has booked a holiday in this country to celebrate our anniversary next month but no idea where we are going.
CherylParry When we go, we hire a campervan for four weeks and travel around. Have seen spiders but not huge ones and they were living in trees where they should be. Worse than that is the snakes. Staying at camp site, went to go swimming at an outdoor pool near Uluru, (Ayers rock) and a green snake beat us to the pool so we made a quick retreat and went back to our campervan. We asked an Australian about the snake and his reply was ‘ the only good snake, is a dead one’ !
CherylParry Even poisonous ones ! I did hold one for the first time at Australia zoo.
Haven't had a holiday in 23 years as won't leave my cats in a cattery and nobody else would put up with them long enough to get a cat sitter
I love going on holiday and will always choose abroad first over UK. I enjoy seeing different cultures and trying different cuisines. I also do enjoy UK holidays but are never as good as abroad in my opinion, so much to see and do outside of the UK.
We are going to Northern Ireland to visit family. We don't go abroad on holiday, always go in the UK.
Hi, will be going to Ireland to see family and hope to have a little city break, thinking maybe Bruges. Have you booked a holiday for this year?
I've got flights booked to Spain, and hoping to get accommodation a bit cheaper nearer the time.
CherylParry that sounds like a good idea about booking them separately. Spain is lovely for a break. I hope you'll make a great saving by booking accommodation nearer the time
We off to Poland have done for last 10 years since we became friends with a Polish couple
I need to get away soon as I am itching for a break. I usually go away a few times a year, and my skin is used to soaking up the sun. I’m currently thinking about visiting Columbia
We are taking a trip to Florida for our friends wedding. I’m taking my younger sister as a surprise. She’s currently very jealous, can’t wait to tell her
I go to turkey every year sometimes a few times a year. They do cheap trips and clothes and food and drink when you are there and there is lots to see and do.
Probably won't be a big holiday this year as planning a big trip to Asia next year, but will likely book a fairly last-minute city break or similar, hopefully abroad but could just be a UK trip, maybe camping or similar
Although, as long as you don't go in July or August, it'll probably be cheaper getting a last minute one, than staying in the UK.
Meteora - Always wanted to visit the James Bond monastery from For Your Eyes Only then take a trip tot he Oracle at Delphi and see if I can get stoned on the volcanic vapours and perhaps get the Oracle to let me see that weeks lottery numbers!
Then its on to Lisbon to do the book tour NIGHT TRAIN TO LISBON and play chess at the famous cafe in the movies and book!
Yep doing my bucket list before CVID19 gets me!
I'm going to Blackpool this year, money's been a bit tight lately so I tend to stay in the UK
Isnt the pleasure beach a fortune to get into now? and the islamic rape gangs in the city are a menace "Charlene Downes" as well as the rampant crime and tourist muggings and the B&B's are quite costly from what I can see on 4 in a Bed lol - changed a lot since i wur there decades ago!
You would probably be cheaper on a package hol to Vilnius at the mo flight £8 each way and Airbnb £15 a night just outside the city evening meals £7 - great place to visit in the summer or how about Slovakia where i live its dirt cheap and fantastic up in the Tatra mountains at any time of year?
