Good Deeds
Ask a Question
I know some people on here do their regular good deeds, but what good deeds have you guys been doing? I claim free sanitary pads and build them up and donate them to my local charities, I also donate food whenever I can.
(My last post was a bit of a rant and want to have a more cheery topic)
I donate to food banks I think it is important thing to do at the moment a lot of people not working checking in on elderly people you know are on their own make sure they got what they need
I donate to my local women's refuge regularly. Alot of women and children that are housed there have to leave with only the clothes on their backs.
Not much, odd donation to charity, in money or goods to shops....can't do anything physical sadly
I've started to give monthly donations to bowel cancer UK as it's one of those cancers which is diagnosed usually when it's advanced and doesn't have a high survival rate.
Btw, I really like your idea of saving up and giving away pads well done
I am on a rota to deliver meals to the elderly and housebound in the community during the pandemic. The local hotel has been making the meals for free. We can also collect medication or shopping.
I've given away lots of stuff recently. Womens, mens and childrens shoes and clothes. I've got someone coming to pick up some free clothes today. I've given away other things too, like household stuff, toiletries, make up and we give £5 a month to our local dog home. I can't always afford to donate things, but do what I can when able to.
One of the most important things we can do right now is check in on elderly folks and those folks who live alone. I'm doing my bit. I want to do more and think that it's better to do a few things well than many things badly.
What I find annoying and no I'm not implying anybody on here because this was a question asked, but I have a major grievance is people that do a good deed and then have to announce it to the world (mainly social media) thereby completely undoing all the intentions of a good deed. We have started to give to the food bank, more now than we ever have, this year things have happened that couldn't have been avoided and not helping those in need would be a pretty poor thing to do.
this is a one off- but the other day me and my partner were walking in a forest and found a lost dog. we call the owners and took it back to its owner although we both wanted to keep her !!
