Grand National - Who's Having a Flutter?
In the News
No Negative Comments about the sport of horse racing please
I'm running a sweepstake for work and have 2 horses in that, plus I've put a few bets on with Ladbroke's, as has my husband.
Think we've got 16 different runners between us, so fingers crossed one of them will come home!!
Got a couple of quid on Takingrisks each way at 22/1
MrsChimp is normally pretty good at getting at least a place, so I'll be putting a bet on for her when she gets back
We usually all pick out horses for the Grand National and my partner will put a bet on for us. He’s done it online this year. Just a bit of fun really.
Good Luck, hope you get a winner
When I was in the office, a colleague used to organised a sweepstake, which I used to take part in, but I haven't put a bet on since Lockdown.
I tried once just ended up feeling silly as had to get help filling in slip kn betting office
And there was me thinking that it was going to be either a Skelton winner or a Mullins. Good on her she totally smashed it with a Bromhead.
Why did you say no negative comments lol.
If you want to discuss something, then people may say they don’t like the sport. You should be able to accept that.
Ann1984 I didn't edit it. I put that in at the beginning. And who is "she" - the Queen Mother?!!
I said no negative comments because I wanted a discussion about betting on the race, not whether people think the race is cruel or not which is a completely different discussion.
TractorGirl327 but don’t won’t to start new chat it is a duplicate or similar so I voice my opinion here thanks
No winner for me or MrsChimp
Well done to Rachael Blackmore, the first woman jockey to win the Grand National.
TheChimp well what can I say she’s won nearly all the cup races this year think she was stunned she won it
Well of our 16 we got one result - the winner!! Jett was in the lead for ages, I had £4 on it at 130/1 so was getting a bit excited for a while!
No would not ever support that race must be one of the cruelest ,such high number of deaths of the horses
My dad used to go in the office sweepstakes ,and got excited about that, good job I didn't know the cruelty involved or would have been up in arms ...
