Has anyone got any experience of booking a holiday on Groupon/Wowcher or similar websites?
Is it straightforward? Is it reliable? Would you do it again/recommend to others?
Took my driver's license in my home country using Groupon. Paid in total 3/4's of what the driver's license was.
I looked up the school on facebook saw people all cheery and telling how great the teachers were.
That was the only time I used groupon though...
Ive mainly booked events or got cheap tickets via groupon with no problems. I know people who usually go on short trips using both and have never had problems

I personally havent but I’ve watched YouTube videos of people who have and typically they say it’s worth the money but dont expect anything special - it’s usually a budget hotel, inconvenient flight times and a very short trip but if you’re looking to travel and save money, this is a good way to do it on the cheap
Thank you for your comment, that was pretty much my thinking - not to expect too much, but as long as its reliable in terms of no major issues with the booking I would consider booking a holiday/short break via these sites
A couple of family members have used Groupon holidays. One went to Rome and the other Amsterdam.
They both flew with Ryanair. They had to make their own way to the hotels, which were both significantly away from the main attractions. The hotels were very basic but clean.
I think it all depends what you want from your holiday and what your budget is.
We have used them for short-breaks in the UK. Some have been great and some disastrous!
Thank you, that's really helpful. I will consider that if/when booking and perhaps be more inclined to book UK breaks with these sites.
