Hand Washing- Be Honest!
Ask a Question
on the back of my innocent pick n mix question i am developing a new phobia. so being honest do you wash your hands after each bathroom visit? I have a colleague who i suspect does not due to their speed and I now avoid accepting tea from them! surely this is one of the most impolite things you can do?! what do you think?
cold sweat....................Am searching LD offers on antibacterial gel as we speak..............
On dear, I am feeling really guilty!
As I am in and out of a children's centre all day transporting them around, I am often rushing to the loo whilst there and for speed use the antibacterial hand wash. It takes forever to wash and dry under the hot air dryers and I can feel my hands dehydrating.
At home always....as I am so often feeding my face!
Lynibis aw no dont feel guilty you are saving me from my own greed when I have seen people mauling the goods but just didnt want to give up my sweetie fix hahahaha. And I too am an avid handwasher but also I spend 85% of my day applying food to face so its not entirely altruistic
yes 100% in my opinion there is nothing more gross than not washing your hands every time, i just wish my son would do the same, lightning toilet visits are a giveaway
Its just wrong isnt it? I couldnt believe the stats reported I am avoiding 62% off men in future. Bless your son tell him he gets a 5p tax off his pocket money with every non handwash lol
OneeyedRaven yes i really had no idea that people were that gross until i started to notice the lightning toilet behaviour as i call it, if someone is outta the toilet before its even stopped flushing then they are GROSS
I always, always wash my hands if there are facilities to wash - and if there are no facilities to wash (such as when travelling), I don't touch anything, especially things that go into the mouth, until my hands have been washed
Another good topic. Non handwashing is a big no-no.
Mr Tumblespots always watches when I come out of the loo in a public place because my face tells him who (just before me) came out when I know they haven’t washed their hands, my eyes follow them with disgust. Unfortunately the knock on effect is that toilet doors swing inwards and therefore you have to touch the handle somewhere to get out so the door handles are awfully unclean and even though I have washed my hands I still feel dirty.
We keep antibacterial gel in the car and wet wipes too.
Don't touch the door handle with your hand then. I don't. None, not just the toilet door handles.
MeestairChrees Good thinking - I always carry a handkerchief for such purposes.
Yes, I always wash my hands, the thought of not makes me feel sick. I carry anti bac gel in my handbag and have one on my desk at work too and use these as well (paranoid about touching toilet door handles ). When my children were younger I used to look at their hands after the loo and do the 'sniff' test (can I smell soap?) so they learnt pretty quick to always wash their hands, lol
I do wash my hands, but I saw several times before others do not wash their hands after....last time I saw a Mom with 2 daughters....none of them washed their hands after...
Of course, but it's disgusting to think many people don't. See it all the time. Vile people.
There maybe a lot of hand washing going on, but secretly behind the scenes people are sleeping with their pets in their beds.
- Nearly half of all British dog and cat lovers sleep with their pets despite hygiene concerns (How clean is that?!)
- Nearly one in five (18 per cent) of pet lovers also let their pooch or moggy eat from their family’s plates. Yuck!
- A third of dog or pet owners (32 per cent) admit to regularly finding animal hairs in their food. Gross!
- A third of (30.5 per cent) animal lovers never wash or clean their pets. What never?!
- 25 per cent do not wash their food and water bowls regularly. Why? Double Yuck!!

I honestly do, and if I have to use the toilet when I'm out, I wash my hands and use hand sanitizer i keep in my bag.
I wash with liquid soap for sure when I use public toilets. At home, I use liquid soap only when I touch the toilet seat or when they need soap. Otherwise I wash with just plain water everytime because my hands get too dry.
Yes! Sometimes in public bathrooms though you catch sight of people doing the quickest hand wash ever like it is just for show! And while it's good that some effort has been made it makes you wonder whether at home they actually do wash their hands
yes i do wash my hands after every toilet trip and make sure i do but been to tolets in town and seen many people that dont and i have to use the same handle to get out the door so alway carry hand sterterlizer with me and atmy parents i empty there comode but some time i dont wash the proper way i should due to time
