Friday! Share Something Positive
Other
While the sun is shining (and we are all staying in doors!) thought it would be good to share some positivity in preparation for the weekend!
As much as most people would like to go out in this weather, lets make the most of the time we have indoors or in our gardens! Cleaning, gardening, sitting and watching TV, cleaning more or even as small as sitting near a window watching the sky or pretending your sunbathing at a beach, try to enjoy that moment completely! Happy Friday and have a great day/weekend!
The more we act sensibly and make the best of what we have the sooner this will be down to a manageable level .
I'm really worried about the family gatherings about to start next week - Social distancing must still be observed - if not the elderly will be infected by their nearest and dearest . No Hugs please !
If you have a large garden, small garden or no garden you can attract wildlife into your environment which helps with mental wellbeing. Just one bird feeder appropriate to your own living circumstances will bring wildlife closer to you. I am lucky enough to have a garden and it has been so lovely watching birds feeding in my garden. The highlight of the past two week is seeing parents bringing their young into my garden to feed. I've seen baby robins, blackbirds and starlings. Hardly rare species but a timely reminder of the wonderful world of nature around us.
Sorry but weekends are meaningless to me presently. Having been indoors since March 22nd every day feels exactly the same except for remembering when it is rubbish day and seeing different programmes on tv at weekends!
dawarwick thank you that is really kind of you. Rereading, my post it does sound a bit self pitying but it really isn't as I am coping really well and have such a loving supportive family who see I have all I need and keep me cheery with jokes on WhatsApp and lots of calls.
I have lived alone for about 10 years but I do miss the day to day routine of work, especially the children I work with and transport. And of course, my family. I hope you are doing ok in these uncertain times and you have kept well and have loving friends/family.
PS I have been spending time making a fairy garden and will post a pic when it is looking ok lol.
Lynibis I agree weekends are just follow-on days now, nothing to separate them from Monday to Friday. We forgot our rubbish day this week the smelly one!!!!!!!!!!!
lilyflower Ha ha, I have to jump out of bed on Friday mornings when I remember as I dare not put the sacks out on Thursday evening or the cats and foxes have a field day.
tumblespots I am very lucky that mine don't come at the crack of dawn, usually after 10am
Lynibis 10am is a civilized time. We were sat in the lounge and they arrived at 5.30am and took us unawares so we have a fortnight to wait again now!
tumblespots Lynibis Our normal time is 6am - has to go out the night before, but not before 5pm (Council instructions and back in by 12 noon) was a real bug when working.
lilyflower Our normal waste & recycled waste are both usually very early (council states bins out by 5.30) but the green waste - which we have to pay extra for - they come around midday! I don't believe there is any stipulation here about when the bin has to be off the pavement and back on the property by?!
After being back at work for just over a week now I am looking forward to having a lie in! Hopefully it will be nice weather so I can enjoy a walk with my dogs
Bet she's excited, remember no hugging etc and stay 2m apart and in the garden. My daughter said from Monday I could have a social distancing visit but she couldn't come into the house or hug and as we have no garden we've put this on hold until ……...…………?
lilyflower she his she had to choose who to meet friends or boyfriend. But the girls had been breaking rules so choose the right one. I think there be a cheeky kiss somewhere
We got a surprise parcel this morning from my mother in law. Some new pjs for our son and some lovely home baking! Lovely surprise and my husbands Auntie has sent him a parcel too. They haven't been able to see him and are missing him.
Our building work is starting on Monday after 2 years of planning! The sound of diggers and excavation work will be music to my ears.
Our garden is coming on a treat now and the greenhouse is up and have seedlings in. One of our three bee hotels is absolutely full too so that's great news.
A positive - Sainsbury's seem to have lifted their vulnerable only delivery options and this week I managed to get a slot for tonight. Full monthly shop done so I can still limit the amount of time I am outdoors while lockdown eases and so less anxiety for me. And I found an old Next gift card with £7 on so treated myself to one of their small perfumes
