martinlufc5637 I don't have a teenage girl, but my teenage boy wants a water flosser. I think my child daughter wants Squishmallows - currently in the process of googling what it is, where you can buy it etc.

QB168 yeah squishmellows are the top toy this year, get them from Aldi, the big ones are only £20 compared to main toy stores who are charging £45 for the same ones

QB168 Good on your son wanting a water flosser but that one did surprise me. My son always wanted gadgets.

QB168 Again things have changed how males look after themselves, I think there was a dip when I was first dating, don’t think they really cared what they looked like!

Our 5 year old is Disney Cars obsessed so got him a bunch of Lightning McQueen stuff. Haven't gone overboard though.

MrsCraig I'm amazed this is still a thing. I did that for my son when he was that age and he is 16 years old now.

QB168 don't feel that way, I wouldn't know about it if I didn't have my son, you get out of the loop of things like that when you don't have little kids anymore.

How things have changed over the years with presents for children. I love the way the children know exactly what they want and how many get what they want. What a change from many, many years ago.

eyeballkerry What I find shocking is the number of presents. We've always told the grandparents, 1 present per child. This way they were never overwhelmed and I hope they appreciate it more.

QB168 It has got crazy over the years and children seem to like loads of presents instead of a decent one that will last longer than nine days!

Squishmallows -

They are super cute, 100's of different styles and they come in different sizes.

They are often available on offers in some places like The Entertainer, Argos and even in supermarkets, I'd check who has a good deal on and see who I could get discount with online or cashback to get the best deal.

Another good tip is, supermarkets and shops often have them on cardboard displays or card display bins. If they are low on them in shops and they aren't going to be refilled, ask as they are often just going to recycle them, so you can often take them for free! (supermarkets are less likely to refill them than toy stores)

DeBunny Thanks for all this information. We've bought a Pikachu Pokemon Squishmallow but we definitely won't be helping our daughter collect 100s.

JLouM For ideas, the Wicked Uncle website, Argos and The Entertainer, probably many other sites have sections where you can get ideas for specific ages. Good Luck!

My son is nearly 19, and struggle now what to get him, this year we have purchased him a drinks fridge (Koppaberg one from currys). Budgeted over summer to get it and going to fill with Koppaberg.

It’s difficult as his birthday is end of January and run out of ideas!
