Headlice
Ask a Question
do you think head lotion really works ?
my neice came home from school with them and has her hair treated 3 times and she still has them back.
all the family have been treated also
my neices hair is really long thick and curly
my sister in law has bought 3 diffrent types of lotion and none have worked
please do you have any ideas ? TIA
Tea tree essential oil and rosemary essential oil 10 drops of each in a pint of warm water sprayed on to hair slowly as you comb through. Bind hair into plait or whatever if long enough and at bedtime use an old pillow with old cover. You will see results next morning.
I hate the things best one I have found to works is boots own brand can be used often I have tried so many stuff over the years and find them back within few day that's because a egg hadn't been treated and hatched tea tree oil defo getsome everyday before school spray on hair plus hair spray
I use tea tree shampoo on my kids and a detangler from poundland which is meant to help prevent headlice.I used headrin as recommended by the pharmacist when my daughter got them and they did go quite quickly but I run a tooth comb through her hair every other night anyway and use the detangler everyday and wash her hair every other day so all the tea tree products might have helped too.
There is a special shampoo can be used....Vosene..they make one for kids too against head lice and it keeps them far away.
I have used the shampoo type on myself and the boys when one of them got lice. I spent I lot of time combing and made sure we were all done so there was no chance of an egg turning up anywhere. It does say to do the whole family. Yet you just don't know how other families in a class are tackling it and they may be doing a bad job at it.
As soon as you notice them you have to also wash bedding and clothes she’s been wearing recently hats etc as head lice takes two weeks after getting of someone means there are eggs , if you just treat hair it will come back from pillows etc
