What do you think of this?

Serves them right! The interest rates they charge is shocking. Knowing full well, people with not much money would jump at the chance to spread a large sum of money over a prolonged period of time

Exactly just like when they jumped at taking all the people who were with buy as you view they do target the poor

It's one of those conflicted type situations.

Horrible for the staff to lose their jobs, but as others have said, they are rip off merchants.

blacklabrador it's the staff in the shops that are ripping the struggling people off. I have no sympathy for them, how anybody could work for a company like that is beyond me

RnD194hd The staff don't set the terms or prices though, they just carry them out.

And I don't know that you can condemn them for wanting to work, often people have to take jobs where and when they find them.

blacklabrador having personally seen the aftermath of their sales tactics to a person with learning disabilities, they'll have no sympathy from me. The staff know exactly what is going on and what they are doing. You may not be able to choose where to work but you can choose where not to work.

RnD194hd Fair enough. Having never been into one of the shops I have no idea of the sales practices. If they are all about the hard sell no matter what then, yes, Karma seems to have popped in too. I'll reserve my sympathies for those decent folk who work there (I bet there are some)

Good riddance. A company that ultimately prays on the most vulnerable in society

About time. I have only stepped foot on one once many years ago, and when I saw the prices, I knew they’re only around to bankrupt people who are already having trouble with money. They won’t be missed

I just had a look on their website out of interest and for a leather reclining sofa you pay back roughly £2000.. surely you can get those kinds of deals at sofa shops!

Used to have one locally but now closed. I always pitied anyone I saw in there as the worst possible way to buy something but to a degree it's up to people how they spend their money or their future money I guess. You see some people who refuse to buy s/hand but instead will pile up debt on themselves which is madness. Buying s/hand is fantastic for the environment and saves you a huge amount of money. As soon as you take something out of the box it's secondhand anyway. Give 2 different people the same wage and one will live like a king and the other will struggle with debt.

Especially with the environment in mind we really need to have a far more positive attitude to s/hand goods and stop worrying about having the latest model with the right brand on.

BonzoBanana spot on nothing wrong with second hand as long clean these sort of stores should be closed altogether because people take out the loans then miss a payment and they come and take away
