Holiday Competitions
Ask a Question
With the current restrictions i was wondering what the situation would be if someone won a holiday abroad and if the company would extend the time to take it because of travel restrictions ?
Has anyone been lucky enough to be in this situation ?
I recently noticed a competition for a holiday abroad, and it comes with a fixed date of sometime during April. Do some of these competition providers not realise that we are currently in unprecedented times? Something tells me that they have been living under a rock.
I only enter holiday comps for end of this year and into 2022. Most of the terms and conditions state the time you can take it and most state having one year from being informed of the win, so I am happy to enter those.
I've not entered many holiday competitions recently for this reason. I don't think it is safe to travel and would not be happy to do so even if it were "allowed" so have avoided entering any unless they are for 2022 perhaps.
This is one of my pet peeves with holiday competitions. Why must family holidays 99% of the time specifically be for 2 adults and 2 children? In reality, families aren't necessarily the traditional family of four, as they are depicted in holiday ads. You would have thought they'd offer more flexibility.
RegularComper90 agreed, families come in all shapes and sizes so companies should cater to this
I know several people that have been scammed from holiday competitions, even from legit companies, researched and everything.
I won £200 of Lastminute.com vouchers last year, they are due to expire in June.
nearer the time I'll be emailing them to ask for them to be extended, as it's near impossible to travel at the moment. Plus, I don't really want to until everything settles down and returns to normal.
