Where Do You Want to Holiday When This Is Over?
Other
Where does everyone want to travel too once this is all over? I mean properly over! Where would your ideal holiday be and with who?
On a cruise to anywhere with great food, no cleaning, no cooking and the occasional glass of Sauvignon Blanc. With my husband of course.
Cruise ship? Folks apparently go missing a lot in those, but when I was a kid I went with my parents and we enjoyed it though times have changed.
PhilipMarc some of the ships are huge but we know which lines we prefer. Even our kids (now adults) love going on a cruise and my poor husband suffers seasickness but prefers doing a cruise rather a holiday involving flights. We rarely do fly cruises these days.
Not going anywhere for a while. There will be a second wave of this....it can not be prevented.
AgnesFaludi that wasnt the question, it's not like I gave a date. Come on! Join in. Where would you love to go!
Can't wait for the third wave.
Bill Gates and WHO want us locked in our houses as if people don't need to earn money to survive.
We get away to the highlands every year for 3-5 days over the Summer, probably not going to happen this year but that's first place I want to go. I then want to finally plan that trip to Canada iv talked about for years... How about you? Where you off too?
Glitterandgold well we were going to book NYC for my birthday in june the Mexico for our big holiday in October. But doubt either of that is happening. So were talking about saving and doing Jamaica as were both desperate to go there. Or I'd quiet like to do your in Indonesia or Japan. So were gunna try save I think.
Glitterandgold alot of the girls I work with have done Cananda they all say the Rocky Mountainer is a must!
Bri92 Well which ever of those you decide on I hope it will happen sooner rather than later. My son really wants to go to Japan, I'm not such a fan of cities myself, I think id find Japan too busy & over crowded. Yes the rocky mountains are my dream, around Lake Louise just looks stunning.
Glitterandgold yeah I know what you mean about cities. But we want to explore japan. The quieter sides all things like that. Not just Tokyo
Awh I hope you all get there soon enough! xx
I was hoping to move abroad, all this has put it on hold. My two choices are Portugal and Lanzarote. Pros and cons for both.
Portugal is ace only been once but really enjoyed it. Was supposed to be going to Lanzarote on the 4th of may ive never been. Still hoping to go to Amsterdam in November
eyeballkerry I used to live in both portugal and lanzarote. I preferred portugal as a destination, love the food, the people, the beaches. Honestly one of my favourite places. But lanzarote you will get better weather all year round!
I would love to book a cruise and go to many places with just the one suitcase. I love Italy....and it's wines....and food so that would be my choice. We were going to do this with family this year so I would still like this to stand and go as soon as we are safely able.
I booked to go to Turkey for three weeks this coming Monday, obviously its been cancelled, just have to wait for refund now.
Bri92 Canadian Rockies are a must, we were planning this for retirement but β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦ Rocky Mountaineer is pricey, when I went years ago went on Via Rail Calgary to Vancouver, same rail track only you travel through the night, not a problem as on the return journey this part is day time. We just had a seat and took a picnic worked out about 1/3 price of Mountaineer.
lilyflower yeah its deffo in my top 10 if places I want to visit! But better start saving for it!
Bri92 September is a good time to go. If you want to extend go up the inside passage from Vancouver island on the ferry every two days, brilliant scenery.
I should have been in the India and the Maldives this week
Canada is lovely. We visited Victoria, Vancouver (did a short cruise to Alaska) then flew into Calgary and hired a car for two weeks and drove all around the Rockies. It was shoulder season when we visited in May so lots of snow higher up (we in Banff). Lake Louise was partly melted and there was some great hikes.
Japan, we visited in koya season in October. The Japanese Alps were beautiful with some great hiking. It was all done DIY and easy to do with great public transport. We did Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima up to the Japanese Alps for some hiking then Mt Fuji lake area before ending in Tokyo.
Bali is beautiful and for anyone wanting to visit Indonesia I would suggest Lombok and the Gili Islands as well as Bali. I only stayed briefly in Jakarta.
Love the bits of British Colombia I've been to. Vancouver is great, Victoria nice too. Whistler was my favourite for views though.
Sadly never done through the Rockies, but one day...
Initially, just a weekend away somewhere in the UK. Then plan something bigger in Europe probably.
Nothing fancy, me and my wife planned to climb Snowdon this summer. A weekend away there would be nice. Or Lake District
We were meant to be in California now for two weeks, Disneyland and universal plus California beach for a week , so definitely the same trip when all is over and when I get my refunds I have been waiting for two months now
loveglitches if you aren't having any luck with getting a refund then open a dispute with your credit card provider. That's exactly what I had to do as I've still not had my refund.
rararachel yes I did for Disney tickets as 365tickets refusing to refund it, hopefully I will get the money back as are not cheap the tickets for the flights they say up to 12 weeks so I will wait and see , beach hotel should be by 16th may so hopefully will get it soon , but also opened dispute as it was meant to be two week for refund and now over two months , very frustrating, fingers crossed we get money back soon
loveglitches you will get it back. I'm due a refund from easy jet but most places are working on skeleton staff. They way I think of it imagine needing to return a top to a shop along with over 75,000 other people all at the same time and theyres only about 100 or so staff working. Its bound to take it's time. Whilst it's not idea, and it's taking forever you will get it
At this point I think I will go anywhere me and my husband like city breaks though and Europe so maybe somewhere east. X
London, myself and my girlfriend have had an invite to stay with her sister and her partner for a few days when this is all over.
We had booked for South Africa for 7 weeks but had to postpone it for now but I will be going as soon as this is all over
She said South Africa, that's a country in Africa.
Although, I personally wouldn't go there as South Africans are reportedly very hostile towards foreigners (and specifically Europeans). A lot were deceased brutally, but I digress. Bri92
PhilipMarc lol. Thanks for the Georgraphy lesson. My family live in Africa and I did actually attend school, so I am very aware. However my statement still stands. Where is she visiting? Cape town, port elizabeth, upington, Kimberley, Durban?
PhilipMarc also unlike you I've personally been to S.A and have found the people very friendly and accommodating, I have a few European friends who live out there too who feel the same.
I would appreciate it if you could refrain from commenting anymore as I feel you are trying to cause arguments as both comments have been condensing.
Thanks. Have a great day.
