Holidays and Travel Insurance
Ask a Question
Does anyone have any plans to go on holiday soon? Do you know if your travel insurance covers you for everything you need it to?
We don't have any intentions of going abroad this year or next at this rate. After reading this article, I'd be reluctant to travel for a long, long time.
I know the Post Office one covers Coronavirus , cancellation & curtailments, but its all in the small print exactly what and how it covers this, As we don' plan on going abroad this year at the moment I haven't really taken that much notice just saw it advertised in the local Post Office a few days ago.
Mango4 that's good to know. We're the same, no plans but certainly makes you think twice. Never really scrutinised policies in the past as I just feel it'd be like getting blood out of a stone and doubly so now.
I had a trip booked last year when Covid struck, my travel Insurance company couldn't wait to email me to tell me that pandemics weren't covered.
I'll be reading the small print a lot more thoroughly next time.
blacklabrador yep, call me cynical but I feel most insurance policies are written *not* to pay out. Yet I always buy the appropriate policy for my own peace of mind, e.g. car, building and contents, travel ins etc.
HappyTravels I think that's where I went wrong.
I always went for the cheapest option and would hark on about getting a weeks travel insurance for under a tenner.
The old adage about getting what you pay for has never been truer.
Insurance companies eyes would have lit up knowing the pandemic will have invalidated loads of policies.
