When does everyone start looking or even booking their main family holiday? Have you already done it? when do you get the best prices or do you see what comes up as and when?
Sometimes we book the year before, some good deals when you do that. The late deals can also be good aswell, even leaving it to the month before you looking to go, you would be surprised what deals you can get.
I always book very last minute. We dont always get the hotel we are after but the amount of time we spend in there anyway it really doesn't matter. Always a huge saving to be had, even if we have to fly for a different airport to our local one!
We tend to book fairly last minute as we don't know where we fancy going until its nearer the time. Airbnb always has something reasonably priced especially if you go out of season.
I just look all year around. and book when I see something I like. winter months are always cheaper to go on holiday.
