Home Workout or Gym?
Ask a Question
Earlier this year, during lockdown, I built my own home gym. But after a month or so I wasn’t seeing results and haven’t used it since
Can a home workout be just as effective as going to the gym?
Yeah you can my husband has a home gym never stepped foot in gym. You can get your own personal trainer from YouTube free. Follow diets etc don’t quit too soon.
It can,but no need to expect results very quick. Workouts will work together with healthy eating.
Why pay for a gym when you can have a workout in your back garden. Why pay a personal trainer when you have a free one on youtube and have a workout in your living room
I guess it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Some equipment in gyms is going to give you a stronger workout than a domestic version but normally you can find some way of exercising effectively at home.
I'm lucky to have both but there is more choice at a gym but can be a little intimidating at times and expensive
In the end it all comes down to motivation and willpower. I have been doing workouts at home,, including Joe Wicks, but I am so pleased to be back at gym classes. I have to book two weeks in advance at midnight or I don’t get in as the class is so popular. We motivate each other and the instructors urge us on and also make sure we are using the correct technique. It is also a social thing.
I do Zumba at home and walk my dog twice a day. This keeps me active and obviously if I didn’t do it I would put on weight and be unfit.
I find that Gyms are a bit expensive and I would not have the will power to go so my exercise consists of walking the dog and horse riding I prefer to be out side
You can do a lot at home. Just find a decent workout plan. Learn what work out does what part of your body. A great book called strength training anatomy. That shows you all the body parts and shows you the muscles they are working, i used this book for my fitness instructor course.
You will understand what movement does what, then you can do your own routines.
Watch some decent YouTube work outs.
You can get basic equipment at home.
Some people do better going to the gym as they are more motivated away from home.
But others enjoy working out from home. Plus it saves you the gym fees.
You can do it. Make a routine and get into it again
Keep at it and you will see results. We have a home gym in shed at bottom garden. Going there in wet only motivation problem
