Honestly, Do You Have Your Five a Day?
Ask a Question
I try to add Fruit and vegetables to my diet but sometime I find it difficult to include them into meals. Especially five times a day. What about you?
Try to but can't always manage due to work . Hops are of course a fruit/vegetable -aren't they ?
Not normally. But I do have a lot of chillis in my food, and I’m sure they count as they’re different varieties
No way. Again probably 2 or 3 on average. I'm very good with fruit but not so much vegetables, there are lots I dislike.
No, most days I probably get 2-3, it's only when I cook certain meals I think I get 5 in a day (cooked dinner, stew etc)
I eat quite a lot of fresh fruit & veg, so usually hit 5-a-day or more most days. Although, it's believed the real amount that people should aim for is 10-a-day, but 5 'was chosen by public health campaigners because it was seen as an achievable target for most people'. If they campaigned for 10 most people probably wouldn't even try.

Definitely not... at the start of the year I was dieting and eating really healthily - tracking my calories and nutritional intake. The days where I had 2 pieces of fruit, I had gone waaaay over my sugar allowance for the day, and even with extremely healthy meals I struggled to get 3 portions worth of veg..
If its a day I have a salad probably easily but if its not such a day unlikely most of the time.
Probably yes, I am a vegetarian so I eat a lot of fruits and salads. But I honestly never stopped to think about whether I eat my five a day.
I think its difficult to hit that in the UK unless you live near a farm. Mainly because we don’t have great options of fruit in this country and most is imported from overseas.
I manage 3 or 4 a day most days. I put at least 2 vegetables on our teas every day, I have a banana most days with my breakfast. I do struggle with fruit tho, I dont enjoy alot of them. Much prefer veggies.
