I dont own any huawei smart devices, but after reading the news about what’s been happening, it certainly seems like any customers of theirs will have issues in the near future - although I’m sure that’ll just give China the push to up their game to rival the likes of Google and Android
This will affect US Huawei device users but it could benefit other countries by Huawei focusing on other countries more such as England which could generate better trade deals between the two countries. Hopefully Huawei can improve security on their devices and make better trade deals with England in the future.
If the restriction continues to stand, it will not harm only US users, since Google will restrict their access to Android.
I don’t think huawei has any real intention of looking for other connections internationally- the ceo is very driven and the US restrictions just gives him and his company the go ahead to create rivalling operating systems, etc. They have already released the NM cards, which they will develop to try to rival micro SD cards. Huawei has definitely got big plans
kikogpe Unless they come up with a completely new operating system that is no android based.
zerocenturyzero They have already developed this OS, but as I said above, the problem is to convince users, and especially developers. Nokia and Microsoft failed especially because of the lack of apps in the Windows and Symbian stores.
kikogpe They will need to convince app developers to develop apps for their app store and big investments will need to be made for security.
My brother has an huawei phone. He loves it , to be honest with you I think I would prefer huawei over Samsung and iPhones
yes huawei make great phones there is no doubt about that, cheaper than the big names but with same or not more power for a fraction of the price
Huawei smartphones aren't widely used in the USA anyway. American stores didn't stock them. The brand is going to find it hard to recover in the West after Trump's ban, all the negative press and privacy fears. Consumers will be less inclined to buy new Huawei phones in the future if there is restricted Android use or the risk of not being able to access popular sites. Mobile phone providers will try to phase out Huawei equipment used in networks. If Huawei does release a new operating system the Chinese government could force its citizens to use it, but is unlikely to be widely adopted elsewhere
