My two favourite places are Florence and Portofino on the Amalfi coast. Love the history, architecture, food and the sun!!
We had a wonderful trip to Italy in 2017. We flew to Rome where we spent 4 nights and saw the Colesseum, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain etc. We then got the fast train down to Naples and stayed in Sorrento for a further 4 nights, we got to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum which were amazing. Finally we flew to Sicily for 5 nights and stayed in a lovely coastal hotel, we visited Mount Etna It was the best holiday ever.
It's some where I would like to go but not been yet. Maybe when life settles down we can save up for holiday
I really liked Milan.
The shops were eclectic - It was amazing that you had top end designer shops sitting next to the fishmongers quite happily.
I've been to quite a few places in Italy and my favourites were Rome and Florence - both really lovely places!
I flew into Pisa late in the evening checked into the hotel and had planned to spend the following day there but after seeing the tower caught the train earlier than planned and got off at Florence. Spent most of the day there then got back on the train down to Rome. Breakfast in Pisa, Lunch in Florence and Dinner in Rome Have done other trips too, Maranello is a must do for any Ferrari fans
I have always wanted to travel to Rome. My brother said he will take me there after the Pandemic
I’ve been to Rome and Lake Garda and both are beautiful for different reasons.. Rome is far more city-like and touristy in terms of things to see and do, but Lake Garda is stunning, calmer and quieter.. I want to go to the Almafi Coast and Venice next
I've been to Rome and I've been to Tuscany. I liked both. Sienna is lovely, driving aeoind Tuscany cointryside is amazing.
Strange question. Unless you have visited all of Italy how would you know your favourite place?
I have sadly never been. What about you, gemmarie91?
