Its Probably Never Been Busier for Warehouse Staff

I know the staff in supermarkets are working non stop, so I can only imagine the madness at the distribution centres at the likes of Amazon - who are currently recruiting for more staff to deal with the demands
If you’ve ever worked for such a company before, what is it like? I did used to have a colleague who worked for DPD previously and he couldn’t get out of it faster! But I guess a job is a job
The supermarkets must be raking it in. Unfortunately lots of people are losing jobs elsewhere. It’s so sad
Supermarkets may be raking it in now, but in a few weeks when this has passed ( hopefully), they will be much quieter than normal. The same goes for the likes of Amazon , Morrsions etc who say they are recruiting all these staff due to demand, but in a few weeks will probably lay them all back off
I think many more people will start shopping online now, and those that already shop online will do so even more. That is at least until a vaccine is developed and then probably for many more months thereafter. So I reckon online shopping is in for a boom 18 months minimum.
My husband works in a supermarket and its been absolute chaos. He actually had some annual leave booked but was called in, they've had about a 30% increase is sales but no extra staff. I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I can work from home but my heart breaks for people who have no choice but to go into work and potentially put their families at risk.
