They are not disclosing how much they spent on it but said it is equal to previous ads. Not sure where the money went. It’s pleasant enough, song gets stuck in your head but it’s not outstanding.
I would sooner them reduce their prices and be fairer to staff than waste millions trying to be top of the Xmas ad polls.
But then look at the extra publicity they have already generated for free. Already it has been discussed on gmb, Lorraine, and I daresay it will be on This Morning and Loose women, various news items, on your post etc. Maybe they are not so stupid!
It's not really grabbing me, maybe after I've seen it a few more times it's a grower.
Not as good as Edgar - my little boy cried every time it came on and that's all he wanted for Christmas so I gave it him on Christmas eve with his Christmas PJ's and he was the happiest boy ever!
Myself and my daughter watched it this morning and we didn’t like it, definitely a miss!
Don’t really get it. Had a email this morning from them. Spend £200 and get £20 off . Plus a link to their advert. It doesn’t encourage me to buy from them unless I can get a sale item.
Not a lover of John Lewis adverts. Why do they always need to ruin a great song? Not seen a Christmas advert to rival Sainsbury's WW1
I think it’s lovely it shows how you can relate to anyone the happiness and love of Christmas
Its ok, the music track is the best part I think.
The dragon one from 2019 is still my favourite thou.
I'm open minded about the advert, I've got a good imagination and it's pleasant, the problem I've got is that another classic song has been used in a TV advert and ruined, it's an old song sung by Philip Oakey from Human League, try listening to the original, I think it was from a film.....
Definitely not one of their better ones. It’s okay but doesn’t elicit an emotional response from me. Give me Edgar!
