I love the idea of having a pet monkey but I watched a documentary about it once and they are very high maintenance

No. I don't agree with keeping wild animals as pets. A monkey should be with other monkeys

I think monkeys are lovely, but I probably wouldn't have one as a pet because I don't think they are the kind of animal you should have as a pet.

I kept one for about four months never again. Very high maintenance. Very smelly urine and when snoopy got miffed off he pointed his little weener out of the bars and pee'd out towards you or lobbed his poo at you. He was a marmoset monkey. I got landed with him because i had the space and the nephew had already got him. He is now residing with a lovely lady at a farm in a massive outdoor enclosure and has very recently landed himself a female partner. He was a funny character though and kept me entertained and on my toes.

No because I don’t think it would be fair to the monkey at all to be kept as a pet

Probably not, as I’m sure it’ll hate living somewhere so far removed from its natural habitat

No, its a wild animal and should be in the wild. If for some reason it had been captured / rescued it should be in a sanctuary not kept as a pet

I don't think so. There is more to a monkey's life than to serve as someone's pet. And some are just downright vicious

I wouldn’t now as it seems a bit cruel to have one in a house but growing up I wanted a monkey sooo bad, from about the age of 3/4 I had a weird obsession with them. Every birthday and Christmas I’d ask for a monkey...never got one but for a good 12-13 years my mum always got me a monkey type teddy to go with my presents. One year she bought a huge gorilla teddy from a catalog or magazine, she didn’t realise it was wearing a g-string that said ‘wild thing’ on the front. lol. Slightly inappropriate for a kid, I still have it now though 💕😂

Just to clarify i wasn't happy about keeping the monkey but the guy the nephew bought him off wouldn't take him back even with the incentive of a £500 quid knocked off what he paid for it. I had to find him a forever home and it took that long and I had to be sure of everything before I sold him. Tried giving him to the zoo's free but because of covid it wasn't happening.

This is why it is NEVER a good idea to keep wild animals as pets. Just because some people do it successfully does not mean it is safe to do so.

This is just one story of many to do with chimpanzees and many more of other wild animals attacking human 'owners'.

No, it's cruel they need to be in a group, there are lots of YouTube videos of monkey's attacking their owners as well as cute videos of them dressed up as babies, but they grow up

No. I’m not a pet person 🙈. Monkeys should be with others. But yes people do have unusual pets
