Kids Having to Spend 50% outside at Nursery

My son started nursery this year but they are having to do 50% of their day outside because of Covid. Just feel it a bit unfair on them coming into the winter 
!
Ordered him a thick rain snow suit but still feel sorry for them!
Any other mums and dads kids the same? How use feeling about it?
My youngest has just left nursery. I think it's a bit much myself especially with British weather
Imnotcheap yes it’s totally different in the summer but feel like it’s to cold and wet in the winter for them x

My little boy has 
nursery, they encourage outside time as much as possible, they have always done that. My 3 daughters all attend same nursery. The schools are going to be keeping windows opened all the time during winter for ventilation. So kids may need to wear jackets in class if it get cold enough. I also stay in Scotland.
In Scandinavia's countries, children spend most of their time outside, even when it is snowing.
If you wonder what they'll do if it snows, they'll probably build snowmen, throw snowballs and have the time of their life. . . well that's what we did when I was young in fact they couldn't keep us in.
Kids in school upto year 2 have access to outside learning it learn though play. Loads of schools do it. More time outside better don't pick so many germs up from being in a small class room
I think outside learning is important to them but half their day in the winter is a bit much I still feel xx
Yes the British weather can be very unpredictable. However, a lot of parents complain that nursery should be less structured - with more playtime. When we were small we loved being outside and would spend as much time as possible out in the open. I am sure if you visit many nurseries/schools you will see lots of small faces looking longingly out of the window and yes, even when it is snowing - children love snow. It's the wind and rain that are less pleasant. What is the alternative - getting covid?
Are they providing covered areas?
I'd said very similar (before seeing your comment) when replying to another comment - I'm reasonably certain they won't force them out, if there isn't suitable shelter, if the weather is too bad.
The only covered area they have is a small hut. They are saying because they spend half their time outside the kids aren’t aloud to ware Halloween costumes just some kind of Halloween T-shirt. So I don’t see it changing much into the winter.
