What do you think of this?+20 points

That voucher codes have default expiry expiry date it is so frustrating to search and find none work any more and they were posted 6 months ago

I wondered was it possible to filter out deals from certain companies or have a pass option so you go straight to the next deal if you want to ignore it?

I don't see a point of having Sparky bot who constantly reposts expired vouchers from other sites, often with incorrect title and no indication as to what the terms and conditions are.

For example:

www.latestdeals.co.uk/vouchers/15-off-25-holland-barrett-coupon-code-

Was posted yesterday but the actual offer expired on 28th December and it was never £15 off but 15% off instead:

www.latestdeals.co.uk/vouchers/15-off-orders-25-20-off-orders-35--holland-barrett-3435

sunshinemum the bot LD accounts posting voucher codes aren't great. At the time of writing this comment the Sparky account has posted 20,576,217 voucher codes, but if you click on that account you can't see any of them. Instead you get the following message - Sorry, we couldn't find any posts Please try changing the filter options. Often voucher codes are being refreshed before they've become valid again. The frequency of times I'm seeing Refreshed yesterday on vouchers from the Sparky and other LD bot accounts, often on posts from over a year ago, suggests many vouchers are actually being refreshed the moment a member tries to post a previously used code.

ACR Hi, if you post a discount code and someone tries to re-post it when it has not yet been expired, your voucher post will get refreshed and they will get an error message. This protects your voucher posts and is applies to all. 👍

Tom That makes sense for vouchers posted recently, for example 1-2 months ago but it's a bit pointless when Sparky refreshes something posted a year ago, when the code might be the same but the offer is likely to be different. Also, many voucher codes work only on specific products or are only valid on products listed within a special page and should be posted as new vouchers but in most cases it is not possible as Sparky already did the refresh with the generic link and no indication in the description as to what the terms and conditions are. I don't find this feature useful and don't trust the vouchers posted by Sparky. This morning I have reported several vouchers that have expired but where still posted after their expiry date. Not sure what is the aim here, to have every possible voucher posted even though 50% off them no longer work?

ACR agree, it's terrible and these generic posts with not much indication as to what the offer is are often blocking normal users from posting. I'd rather see less vouchers but posted by real users than Sparky bot reposting expired/unclear offers from other sites

I'd make it so that in the Rate Deals section there's no more of those ridiculous price only items, as how is it even possible to rate a Deal if the original price is not shown?

ThatsAGreatDeal I have spoken about this in the past and complained about it not being a deal if it is just the normal price. I also don't like grocery items with 5p off🙄

Lynibis Well said Lynibis. Yes it's ridiculous that this element is not addressed. I saw one of those 5p off "deals" earlier. I honestly see no point in posting such a little price saving.

ThatsAGreatDeal I'm afraid many members just post their "3 deals a day" off Supermarket websites (which have been the same price for months ). It worries me that some members may actually believe it is a deal as it's on a "Deals website". Members posting deals should realise they have a responsibility to fellow members to only post "real deals".

Delivery charges should be part of the posting process. I’m sick of seeing posts where delivery charges are not being disclosed!….especially from your “favourite members” and “deal hunters” who should know better!

Fatabelly I was unaware that LD had favorite members but I’m presuming that you mean the members who post deals daily, correct me if I’m wrong, I post deals daily and always add postage costs, sizes available at the time of posting and any other relevant information I think is relevant to the deal. Looking at the few deals you have posted since you became a member 4 years ago I didn’t see postage costs added in any of them but yet you are quick to call out other members for not doing so 🤷🏼‍♀️

heatherduthie ahhh yes you mean the few deals with free postage, digital items, or the ones from Amazon with free delivery!?? Thanks Brand Alley Karen 🤷‍♂️

Fatabelly amazon is only free delivery if you don’t have prime and the other few deals you have posted didn’t have postage costs either. And yes today my deals were from brand alley. good Observation, and I ain’t no Karen but from someone who doesn’t share deals you sure have plenty to say on other peoples

heatherduthie Amazon has free delivery on orders over £20, whether you have Prime or not. And the few items I posted were actually for decent products, rather than just cheap tat to earn points.

Then again posting any deals is not a requirement for the site, but I’m sure not misleading people is.

Hi thanks for your comment. Add missing delivery costs via a report and you can earn bonus points as a thank you for adding extra information! 👍 Also, under almost every deal post, there is a "Retailer Information" box which includes delivery costs for the retailer (for Amazon this may differ as individual sellers set their delivery costs):

Put the delivery cost on the thumbnail, and as it is called latest deals put the latest deal first with the option to click on fave to change sorting order.

kernowmaid Thanks that's a nice idea. You can change the sort order to 'newest' via a filter at the top. This will show you the latest deals (and you can do this on any retailer page).

Image

In regards to putting prices on thumbnails, we considered this into the past but ran into difficulties when delivery costs vary on weight of product, post code, if you live in Ireland, if you have memberships, free trials, and other individual considerations. So, to make sure you have the full and best information to make an informed decision, there's a retailer information box under every deal explaining all the delivery info:

Image

On freebies, where there is a clear and simple postage cost involved, then delivery costs are shown on the thumbnail just as you suggested 😃:

I was wondering whether we could have a new comping section for festivals/events/spas, which are currently not permitted, but there are so many of them that I feel compers are missing out. We are all old enough to know whether we could attend events and therefore whether to enter or not. I think it would be very popular.

It'd be nice if the previous/original dark grey theme/background could be an option, as well, instead of the new black & white only option. I'm not sure if it's the contrast or/and font change, but it's not as easy on my eyes.

Tom Kelsey Since when we are expected to unexpire old deals?

There is a strange rule on site now. We are expected to un-expire old deals, even though those deals were expired days ago. If you post a new deal they will merge with expired one

SebK84 Hello, this is an account specific report request which it says it the op not to post on this thread

"For personal support queries such as 'why was my post removed?' please contact our member support team"

Also, I had a conversation with you 2 days ago about this and explained it all to you then - here is what I wrote in case you cannot find it

"SebK84 Hi, if your deal is under a month old and becomes available at the same price again, you just need to edit and un-expire your previous deal. Thank you

"We allow price changes of up to ±5% before a deal can be posted again (within 30 days). This means that if someone has posted a deal for £1, but you've now seen it's £0.95p, we ask you to simply let the author of the post know (or tag a Mentor) and encourage them to update the price. If the price has changed more than 5%, you are welcome to post it again and report the first deal post as expired."

If you look in that picture you screen shot above, it does say (You can expire or unexpire it yourself by editing your post) Thank you

SebK84 Just a quick search in the search bar at the top of the page of the first few words of the deal you want to post and sort by date. Also, you can click on your name and see all the deals posted by yourself as well. Thank you

Tom Kelsey emmabeckz I posted a freebie for felix cat food, my freebie was constantly moderated as it said the link didn't lead directly to the deal page (it did, I know this as me and 3 other people filled in the form and have received email confirmation from felix) Now someone else has posted the exact same freebie and it's not been removed even though it's the exact same thing I posted hours before?

I assume this is a technical error rather than human but things like this have happened to me before, I'm not sure why it was flagged as not working, the only thing I do know is that the website didn't work properly when being accessed from a mobile.

Add more bots posting deals and vouchers, this way you will soon remove deals/vouchers posted by the community. Just looked at new deals and probably like 20 deals posted by bots. It's so exciting to see which way the site is heading😆

There are so many expired deals that I think if any expiry date is not given it automatically should be set to 30 days.

emmabeckz Can you use that to block deals from people who constantly post fake deals or is it just for chat posts? It would be great if we had more control on what deals we see.

Also I've said it before and its always ignored but all deals that have forced postage on top should have the postage included in the deal price. The price we see should be the price we actually pay. Some postage is a lot of money i.e. bikes can be £20 on top where as other sellers have free postage for bikes. That can be a huge difference in pricing.

BonzoBanana if you block a user that will block you from seeing their deals, chats and comments that they have posted. I think Tom has replied previously about postage charges if you go up a few comments in this post. Hope this helps thank you 🙂

emmabeckz In a way it would be good if you could select which it applies to i.e. 3 different things to select (deals, chat and comments) as often it's really just the deals I want to filter out. For chat comments generally its a very friendly place with no extreme views generally which is one of the great things about Latestdeals unlike Hotukdeals where there seems to be a lack of tolerance to other people's views and often it ends up in a keyboard warrior situation.

I would like to see a voting section if possible. For example, if I was having a hard time deciding if I should buy product A, B or C, I would like to see what people suggest via a voting system. Similar to the voting system you can post on Facebook.
