Lobster from Lidl
Ask a Question
Has anyone ever bought lobster from Lidl before? Are they any good? They’re advertising them at £5.49, and I think they do this offer every year, but they never have them in store, perhaps because they get bought out right away
Spooky! I was only talking about this yesterday and wondered when they would be available. Yes I've had them several times and they are OK. They aren't very big but great to split in half and make two Thermidors and the claws for a variation on a prawn cocktail. Thanks for the heads up.
You’re welcome. It’s being advertised in the Lidl newsletter, so it’s due out soon. My local Lidl always sells out of the good stuff, so I’ve got to get there early to get the offer
Not from Lidl but I have from Aldi and it was good! Didn't manage to cook it quite so nicely as in a restaurant but was pretty fun to eat lobster for cheap
Sounds like it’ll still be tasty and perhaps tastier because of the price? thanks for sharing your experience - I’ll give it a go
I think I will this year. I am sure if it’s horrid, not up to standards, my cats will eat it...
AgnesFaludi hspexy They come ready cooked so takes all the guesswork out for someone who has never boiled a fresh one. The only tip I would give would be to drain them thoroughly when they thaw - nothing worse than wet lobster meat.
Thanks for the tip. Lol yes it would not be as enjoyable if all wet and icky. I’m thinking of stir frying it, so it definitely needs to be properly drained
