London Fireworks on BBC a Bit Naff?

Other

So I tend to stay in and watch the fireworks each year - not really a party person.

But this year they were pretty awful - anyone agree?

There was a lot of black smoke obstructing the view from many angles, which I've not seen in previous years. It was likely from the fireworks but looked like smog - not the best advert for London/the country.

They usually do a good job so I'm not sure what went wrong this year.

Thoughts?

I heard the smoke was due to the weather being too good (no wind to take the smoke away)

Usually London's fireworks are amongst the best, but this year they didn't seem that great.

For me, the accompanying music was all over the place, with no pattern or flow.

Yeah, other than a couple of very well timed bits of music, it didn't impress me either. Disappointing show this year.

I thought it was the Australian wild fires as represented in the form of fireworks. 😀 To that end it worked. But in reality we thought they were a bit naff in my family. We didn't think the fireworks really fit the music and the football bit was just random. Not very good this year.

Yes, I heard that from someone I was with - they said oh looked like we were mocking the wildfires!

Oh and yes, also agree on the football, though I'm not a fan - didn't see the point, and embarrassing when we no doubt lose...
