Long Hotel Stay

Make sure you take a travel wash or decant your normal detergent - two weeks is a long time to go without washing through a couple of bits..... If you have a really good hairdryer take it - there is nothing worse than using a hotel option that your could personally blow harder than! The late night snacks is another thing that I would consider - you will be back in your room and it's not easy to pop out for something to go with a much needed cuppa. The obvious advice is to roll as much of your clothing as possible - it will save space and prevent serious creasing. Cut back on full sized products like toothpaste etc. You didn't say when you are away so I will say now - I hope everything goes smoothly and to plan. x

Hi mrscraig just wanted to say all the very best hope all go's well. Let's us know how he gets on. Take some of your tea bags and some coffee and some powder milk. Because I know when I stayed in hotel the tea and coffee was all full. And these little mikl things that they give you it was off. It was to do with the heat in the room. So when i do go to hotel i take my own now make sure you got all your phone numbers with you. And all your papers that you need to take has well. And do not for get to take his fav teddy bear.

i always make sure i take a travel iron and board with me and i take my own tea bags and coffee and i buy UHT milk so at anytime of day we can have a drink we take all toiletries travel size and we buy snacks for a night time and biscuits so we have snacks if wanted on the night and biscuites for breakfast

im not sure if you will have a hotel that offers food but even when they do it can be quite costly

but i do this to try and keep the cost down and there is nothing worst than getting up with out a coffee/tea i no people like cerel or toast ext for brekfast but most hotel rooms only give you 2 small cups and no other crockery or utensils

I would take a teapot and a small jug for milk

a picnic plastic crockery set and a kitchen knife, and some metal cutlery.

Then you can have fruit, cheese and biscuits, a takeaway etc on a plate.

Most hotels will have mugs for tea but no teapot and no milk jug.

Take a dressing gown or lounging around PJs too.

I am very sorry to hear your son will be in hospital, I hope everything goes okay. I would bring an extension cable for charging your devices. It makes it much easier.

Another thing I take is an hdmi cable to connect my laptop to the hotel room tv to watch dvds, Netflix etc on a bigger screen

I cant think of anything that hasnt been mentioned apart from the obvious that youve already got. Just wanted to say Good Luck and i hope everything goes well.

I said in a hotel for four months with a job once. Actually I just brought the basics and found the experience quite nice as all your possessions are not cluttering up your life. Yeah just buy what you need. I bet you won't need much extra though.

If you've got an (electric) extension lead just bung it in the car. It may come in useful if the plug sockets aren't in the right place or there's not enough of them.

If you don't need it, leave it in the car.
