Lotto Winner Who Scooped £100k Spared Jail for Stealing £15k worth of Trainers

In the News

Talk about the soft legal system

Despite winning £100,000 in 2018 on a scratchcard this light fingered greedy delivery driver stole over £15,000 worth of trainers and was only given a 20-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, community work and £425.00 costs, despite having 22 previous convictions covering 44 offences, including a drink driving

Why didn't they take some of his assets to cover the theft at least, unless he blew it all on LFC tickets ?

Now after getting sacked he will probably be on benefits paid for by the taxpayers, paying the fine back at 50p per month and now has plenty of time to get to the football matches

And they say crime doesn't pay

telmel - I agree with you 100%. This man is a career criminal and will never stop offending. I blame the courts for being a soft touch and listening to his sob stories over and over again.

What a greedy idiot. Why did he need to steal when he had won so much? I agree the law is way too soft on serious criminals. He should lose all his assets to cover costs.
