Making Split Christmas’ Special

Help

Hello, has anyone got any tips or things we can buy to make a split Christmas special?

My partner has children and they are spending xmas Eve into xmas day with their mum then coming to him/us xmas day night all Boxing Day into the day after.

it Is their first christmas like this (partner told me he went to them Last xmas but they want to do things separate this year as he’s on his feet this year) and we don’t know how to explain Santa coming twice.. we don’t really want them opening their presents at 8pm xmas day night as the youngest will probably be falling asleep, we’d rather they wake up Boxing Day to all their presents but stuck on how to explain why they weren’t already there xmas day night..

does anyone know of any little gimic we could buy for this to make sense to them or be fun and magical or a good way to explain it? I wasn’t sure if there was some elf on the shelf way we could do this or a tracker for Santa and say he went round the world before coming back here?

any advice appreciated

How about if the elf on the shelf leaves them box with a note that tells them he has hidden the presents that Santa left on Christmas morning around the house and the elf gives clues to where each present is like a treasure hunt x

That’s a good idea! Thank you! Will have to make it so the clues aren’t given until morning and maybe only if they go to bed good 🙊 x

Somewhere on the web is a letter from Santa's staff. It's about a new scheme being trialled for children who have two main homes. It explains how in special circumstances Santa delivers gifts early to some households 'to save him some time on Christmas eve'

It may help.

That’s lovely I’ll try find it thank you! Could it be tweaked to coming back and bringing them later after he’s done the rest of the world? ie brings them xmas day night for Boxing Day morning??

AmberWoof yes that's a good idea. You could download the letterhead that is' from the desk of Santa Claus and write your own version then it could say just what is relevant to your situation
