Maskne!

Ask a Question

I have never really struggled with spots. But my chin has been getting bad recently with wearing a mask. Has anyone come across any products they can share?

Ann1984 same with me. I would usually get the odd little pimple, not a clue what I can do with these! They’re quite painful too

Ann1984 I have used some of the bodyshop Himalayan charcoal mask on my chin which really helped. They seem to have settled overnight! Might be worth a shot, it’s a little pricey but you can buy a small one

Spots are usually because of excess oil clogging the pores and wearing a mask stops your skin from being able to breath, so more spots appear. You can try the seaweed range from the body shop. It's based around oil control which should stop the spots from forming as much. You can also try wearing an oxygen foundation which will help your skin to breath more and reduce the clogging of pores. Spots on the chin are also made worse around women's menstrual cycle, it's the section most targeted on a women's face during changes of hormones. There are some people who use different creams during their cycle. Try to avoid applying anything too heavy in the effected area such as thick creams and full coverage foundation as it will make it worse. And avoid oil based concealers

Moonstone22 thank you I will give the body shop a go see if that helps. I don’t wear make up really, I haven’t since wearing a mask anyway. Thanks again 😊

I’ve used Superdrug tea tea face wash for over 20 years and have never been bothered with spots. But my face has been breaking out as well with wearing masks

I ended up with really bad boils and had to go to doctors for meds. Its worth trying a few products from boots or superdrug first. If it gets any worse go doctors.
