Meat-Free January, Anyone?

Ask a Question

Is anyone planning to have a meat-free January?

Would you get bored after the first day / week or do you think you could stay the whole distance? 🤔

I've too many rabbits , moles and hedgehogs in my outside larder , they'd be no good after a month . Image

No chance. I support the meat industry 100%.

It will also be Dry January (no alcohol). There is probably some form of abstinence happening every month of the year and I never take part any of them. Although, I'm not much of a meat eater, so will likely inadvertently be doing this one 🥦

ACR I'm the same, I don't take part in any of them either! No alcohol or meat is the norm for me... .just don't ask me to stay away from chocolate, cakes, biscuits!!🍫🥮🍪

No chance love my meat. Same won’t be taking up any new resolutions live every day as it’s your last

No but I am going to do a sober January, despite a lot of alcohol gifts. I do it every year as after all the rich food and drink my body needs the rest🙂

beccatavender sounds like you have a good detox plan despite being surrounded by all the alcohol from xmas. That's some will power!! 👍🏼

chelseaturpin that's sounds like hard work to be honest! Its the checking of all the labels and taking extra care about the fine print that would get to me!🤷🏽‍♀️

I think I would be fine during the first week or so. But it would definitely get boring fast.

I don't get it. If you want to give up meat (or anything else), then why only do it or start doing it in a particular month as opposed to whenever you are ready? I don't understand these silly monthly trends.

Doubt I could last a day eating vegetarian food.

Wouldn’t manage a few hours never mind a month. Farming in the family so all for the meat industry too.

Probably could do it but not sure if I would want to. There’s loads of vegan options in the shops

I would cave by lunchtime on the first day! I have no problem eating vegan or vegetarian food, some of it is delicious but I couldn't do it every single day.

I never do any of these monthly fads, I don't drink so never do any of the sober October etc stuff, I don't smoke so don't do Stoptober or any of the others.

No. I gave up vegetarianism years ago, and I’ve no intention of going back, although I will say there are more options these days than there were before

I have no interest in not eating meat and bet many 'new' vegetarians can't resist a bacon sandwich!

Every veggie I've ever known does cheat and eat a bit of chicken or bacon every now and then. No, I will not be giving up meat any time soon.

No, thanks. I'm already planning to keep my diet free of sugar and flour from January. So if I cut out meat as well, it might as well be a food-free January!
