It’s nice to think are patrolling the streets maybe they should have been more observant but at least they acted quickly for a change haha
I live close to Newton Aycliffe and read about this in my local paper. I've never known burglars leave things
My husband used to joke about leptoclaimiacs(his own invention I think) who unlike cleptomaniacs went into places and purposefully left things behind.
This doesn’t surprise me, recently on our local Facebook page was talking about our milkman who runs around at 2am with a light on his head. People actually thought he was suspicious.
Blimey I wouldn't want milk sitting on my doorstep from 2am until I got up, especially in the summer.
It's a pity they are not so diligent with real crime. Usually they don't even bother investigating burglaries, just give you a crime number.
I'm old enough to remember milkmen in the night ,birds pecking at bottle tops and people on the way home from all night parties pinching it for breakfast.
He was acting suspiciously "After refusing to provide his details, the driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and obstructing a police officer." Any driver of a vehicle is obliged by law to provide their details to a police officer. Why would anyone with nothing to hide not provide their details. That in my opinion (and presumably the police) make his actions suspicious. "Suspicion of attempted burglary and obstructing a police officer" seems a justifiable reason to arrest.
