Mosquitoes Could Become Active Year-Round
Other
A new study from the University of Florida shows that mosquitoes could become active year-round in places where they are usually dormant in the winter. They found that mosquitoes can adjust to rapid temperature changes
It might not apply to the UK at the moment, but if you travel a lot or own holiday homes in hotter climates this might effect you

I’m not surprised really. Climate change means we are getting so many more bugs. False widow spiders are everywhere too because we aren’t getting cold enough winters to kill them off. We’ve just ordered some magnetic strips and mesh to make our own screens for the windows. Need to keep those critters out!
Yes S , i think things like mosquito blinds and air conditioning will become more popular in the UK with everywhere warming up in the summer, especially down south
snoogans888 Its a different heat than you get abroad where its a dry heat , thats why you sweat so much here
telmel In America they recently had some dry heat at 56 degrees, I can't imagine handling that. I might as well slit my own throat while I step off the plane rather than endure that. Definitely not my holiday destination of choice. When your body is cold your testicles move more into the body and when its hot they move away from it. At 56 degrees celsius I'll be practically tripping over mine.
I get bitten by everything.A sandfly in Australia got me badly once.Had to have a jab .Felt like my arm had been broken! Yes bugs are mutating to bigger and badder bugs.
