not surprised that they’re going to close more stores and focus on their food in the future - I think that was their plan at the beginning of the year, but it seems like they’re taking a long time to do this
I've always preferred their food to their other products. I buy from the main store infrequently and, even then, I order items as a C&C an pick up from my local Food Hall. I think it is a worrying sign of the times - they had a chance a few years ago to really turn things round but the people in charge are out of touch.
I agree. For whatever reason they are trying to revive their department store items with collaborations, which simply don’t work as they’ve lost sight of their clientele. Food is the way to go for them
Some of their food is amazing... But I think it is a mistake to not sell brands and try to push their own brand of everything.
I have noticed the M&S stores near me are selling more branded items, mainly for drinks and snacks. But they charge higher prices for branded stuff, so I never buy them, only M&S stuff, preferably when things are on offer
hspexy I saw Canada Dry but it was so expensive compare to other stores...but unfortunately majority of their stuff is just their own...like breads, pastas, sauces....and a lot more.
They made a contract with Ocado....so soon all the waitrose stuff will be gone and replaced with these overpriced own brands.
If they bring back their white chocolate torte their sales to me could up their profits again!
