Breastfeeding isn't always smooth sailing for new mums. Whether it's struggling to get your baby to latch, or sitting for hours trying to express, it can be a challenging process.
I just used to put my jumper or top over the bottle, more so because it kept me warm, which also helps with production. I had enough to worry about that my milk production wasn't even up there! I expressed what I expressed and if it wasn't enough he got formula. As long as he was fed that was all that mattered to me!
We put to much pressure on ourselves as new mums. As long as baby is fed, clean, warm, and getting plenty of cuddles we are doing a great job!
You are right the pressures are enormous whether it is self inflicted or put upon you by others. I had trouble myself and had to end up bottle feeding - I had no choice. As you say a well fed baby was the primary goal.
